I'm such a basic person. My cards are always the "Plain Jane" type - more basic, and always the basic A2 size. When I saw the challenge for Twist of Faith this week was "Easel or Pop-up Cards" - I started shaking in my shoes! I've never done anything like that. But one of the neat things about being on Design Teams is that I'm pushed out of my comfort zone. So I waited until the last minute but last night after work made my very first Easel card. Our sponsor this week is Eureka Stamps - and that just happens to be one of my favorite stamp companies! I used a digi called "Fall Set of 4". Yep, there are 4 stamps in that set but I only used one - the pumpkin. I guess I'm into Fall cards now that it's the unofficial last week of summer. So what do you think of my first try:
Ok, so now I want to see yours! Give me ideas for this new-to-me card because I know you all have made them before and are such amazing artists! Stop on over at Twist of Faith this week and share your talent. Thanks for stopping by today. Blessings to you and your family.

Eureka Challenge #54 - Be Sentimental
I love cards - I love to send cards! It can be cards that have images and cards that are just sentiments. Sometimes the sentiment is so powerful that it speaks volumes and adding something else to it would take away from the strong statement it makes. This week at Eureka Stamps Challenge the challenge is "Be Sentimental" - must use a sentiment.
When I was looking for a sentiment, I found one I wanted to use and it was one of those that is so powerful that I wanted it to be the whole focus. The image I selected is Before I Formed You. The only thing I added was some stash items: papers and bling. I loved the paper - I recently used it for shadow boxes too! This is the end result:
So come on over and show us your favorite sentiment! Can't wait to see what inspires you!!! Thanks for stopping by today. God bless you!

Pattie's Creations - Challenge #74 - Anything Goes
Happy Friday!! It's time for a new challenge at Pattie's Creations and this week it's one that anyone and everyone can join in because it's ANYTHING GOES! Now admit it - we all love those challenges because it's time for us to just show off whatever we've been working on - or create something new. And when it's Anything Goes, there are no guidelines to follow...you can just let your creativity shine!
Even though it's still August, here in Ohio we have been having some Fall temperatures lately. Believe me, I'm not complaining! There's only so much that you can take off and still be modest when it's hot and humid. I'm looking forward to Fall and the colors it brings. It's my favorite time of the year. One of the things I love about Fall is the Mum's. In our small town we even have a Mum Festival! For my creation this week I chose "Mums in a Basket". I wanted to keep it rustic and soft so I used pencils to color it...and when I colored the flowers I wanted them to be more full so I took some liberty with the image and colored all around the lines too making the flowers full and the lines more like defined petals. I really liked how it turned out. Now admittedly the picture isn't the best. I was running so late when I took the picture and didn't even notice it wasn't a great picture until I pulled it up to send it...but I didn't have time to retake it.
So join in the fun and let's see what you create in the next couple weeks. Remember that at Pattie's Creations you must use a stamped or digital image in your project some way. Thanks for stopping by!!

Twist of Faith #51 / {PIN}spirational Challeges #71
Twist of Faith's sponsor this week is MelJen Designs and the theme is "Animals". Now if you've ever visited MelJen's, you found there are some really adorable animal digi's. One of my absolute favorites is this little piggy....colored him with markers but my marker wasn't cooperating and didn't work very well...but I must admit that I like the effect it gave. Love when a mistake turns out looking good (at least to me - LOL!!).
My little pig is also joining the fun at:
Meljens Challenge - You've been framed
Creative Card Crew - Down on the Farm
Twisted Tuesday - Use Pink - Twist: outdoors

Eureka Challenge #53 - Dog Days of Summer
August is typically referred to as "The Dog Days Of Summer" - so isn't that the perfect theme for the this week at Eureka Stamps Challenge ? Often the month of August is hot and sticky here and this year is no different. Personally, I'm not a fan of the humidity and the heat. I mean gee, lets face it - there is only so much a woman can take off and still be modest!
This year it seemed like many of my Facebook friends spent time at the beach. They all posted their pictures and, while the pictures were great to see, it made me very jealous. So I decided my "Dog Days of Summer" card would be a beach/vacation theme.
The image I used is Beach Boy and the sentiment is Fun In The Sun. Continuing in my quest to use what I have, the papers and embellishments were all in my stash. (I'm wondering if I'm ever going to make a dent in this stash! LOL!!). Here's the final result:
As usual, the winner of the challenge will win images so get creating so you can link up and hopefully add to your stash of digi's!

Twist of Faith - Challenge #50 - Women - Prov.31
It's a new challenge week at Twist of Faith Card Challenges. This week the theme is "Women - Proverbs 31" and our wonderful sponsor is Michelle Perkett Studio Digital Stamp with a prize of being one of the images featured by the Design Team. The images are fantastic!! It was hard to choose which one to use...but I settled on "3 Graces Ballerinas". I colored them with markers but then went over their dresses and ballet slippers with Spica Glitter Pens to make them sparkle. Keeping with the sparkle going on with the dresses, I used some sparkle paper and then also added some bling. Here's what I ended up with:
So come on over and celebrate women with us this week!! I look forward to seeing what you create. Blessings to you today and this week. Thanks for stopping by.

Eureka Chalenge #52 - Summer Blooms & Blossoms
It's Monday which means it's time for another Eureka Stamps Challenge and this week the theme is "Summer Blooms & Blossoms" Now let me confess here and now: I have a black thumb. Really! I can't grow ANYTHING! I think I'm the only person who actually killed Marigolds! Yep, I did it. I didn't think anything would kill those things! I bought the Marigolds after my attempt at a rose bush....which produced the most beautiful stick you've ever seen. But not one lousy bloom much less a leaf. My mother, on the other hand, not only has a green thumb, but her whole body must be green! She can grow anything!!!! And one of the things that she grows are the most beautiful Iris's. I mean these things are HUGE! And they are the deepest purple color with other shades of purple through them...some of the petals look like velvet - they are so lush. And these things are very old plants. I'm in my 40's and I can remember these same Iris's in the same place every year. So I went in search of an image of an Iris.....
...and of course, Eureka Stamps had one! The image I used is Abstract Flower. I loved how it was abstract - usually not my style at all so it was fun go outside the box. I colored it with pencils and then went over the whole thing with baby oil to blend it. I loved how it turned out! (Hope you do too!). The papers are from my pieces/parts stash. I was so happy about the abstract quality that I didn't add any other embellishment at all. I just wanted the image to be the whole focal point. Here's the final result:

Very first post for Pattie's Creations!
I am truly blessed!! I'm blessed to be on a few amazing design teams...I mean gee, who would have thought that I would ever be on design teams? I see the work of others and always think mine is never up to those standards....but somehow I've been accepted to be part of several great groups...maybe they took pity on me. LOL!!! But guess what? I've been blessed to be accepted to another great design team: Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. Of course if you participate in the challenge (which is every other week), we encourage you to use one of "Pattie's Creations" - yep, she has such neat images - but of course you can use any stamped/digital image if you like. But remember - your project must include a stamped or digital image somewhere on your creation for you to be eligible for the drawing.
This week the challenge is for any type of embossing. The theme of you card can be anything - Birthday, Wedding, Just Because, Baby....if you wanted to make a card for Ice Cream Day you could - just make sure there is embossing on it. I've mentioned before that I make card for our local pregnancy center so any time I get a chance to make a baby card I do. When I saw this "PB Duckie" I fell in love! Isn't he just adorable?? I colored him with markers and then went over his vest and tie with Spica Glitter pens to give him some sparkle. I don't have a baby themed embossing folder but I thought this old Cuttlebug folder of circles was fun. Add some buttons and voila - instant baby card!

Twist of Faith #49 / {PIN}spirational Challenges #69
Tuesdays bring new challenges at Twist of Faith Chard Challenges and {PIN}spirational Challenges.
First up is Twist of Faith. This week we have a sketch challenge and our sponsor is Digi Darla Designs. I created the sketch for the challenge and it was my first attempt at a sketch. The Design Team did an amazing job with it! Remember to participate in the Twist of Faith Challenge your project must include an encouraging quote sentiment or verse. I colored the image with pencils and added a little flower in the corner. Here's my creation:

It's SASSY DAY!
The 5th of the month brings another special day - it's SASSY DAY! Over at the Crafty Gals blog group on SCS we honor a member every month on the 5th....and today we are honoring Joan...aka Sassy.
The one thing you will learn about Sassy is that is an AMAZING artist! She makes such special things and as far as I'm concerned, she's a master at altering items! I don't think there is anything that she couldn't alter and turn into another fantastic project. Just check out her blog: Sassy Moments. Be prepared to find yourself saying "WOW" and "How in the world...." quite a bit. She really needs to open a store.
Now let me just say up front - I am not someone who can alter things. I've tried. And failed. But in honor of Sassy, I thought I would give it a shot again....and I must confess - I failed miserably again. LOL!!! So here it is - my attempt at altering something:
So Sassy, after this - I'm leaving the altering to you! LOL!! Cause you're so much better than I at it... Love you my friend!!!!

Eureka Challenge #51 - Clean & Simple
Happy Monday! It's time for a new Eureka Stamps Challenge - the theme this week is "Clean & Simple".
Honestly, CAS aka Clean and Simple is not something I was every comfortable with because I didn't understand it. I loved the CAS cards I saw - but I could never make one for myself. I thought CAS had to be one layer and with lots of white background. As I continued through my card making adventure, I learned that CAS isn't just a one layer lots of white showing card. One day it hit me over the head when someone said that my style was CAS. WOW - who would have known! LOL!! So now I guess I understand CAS a bit better because it doesn't have to be no paper/embellishments to be CAS. I can't say that I completely understand what CAS is...and maybe I'm still a bit off base with thinking that my cards are really CAS.
For this card I used one Eureka Stamp: the image is Mallard. I colored the image with Prisma Pencils and the papers are from my stash. I decided to leave off any embellishments. Here's what I came up with:
I hope to see you over at Eureka Stamps Challenge - you could be this weeks winner!
Thanks for stopping by...God bless you!!!
