French Birthday

Did you ever have something in your stash that you just figured you would never use but when you did you loved it?  Today that is me.  I had piece of cardstock in my stash that just wasn't me at all...just a color that I could never find a use for....but now I'm in love!  Our new theme at Digistamps4Joy is "Add A Birthday Sentiment".  I've been working to increase my Birthday card stash so I was ready to get to work.  I decided to use a recent release that showed a Paris theme.  I knew exactly what I wanted to so then I looked at my cardstock pile sitting in front of me and there it was - that one piece that was old and just crying to be used.  I looked past it and was going to use something else but my eye kept going back to that one piece so it was time to figure out a use.  The neat thing is - once the card was done - I LOVED IT!  Now I'm going to have to figure out where I got that once piece and get more!  LOL!!!

Before I get to the challenges I'm entering into....I just wanted to tell. you a bit about Digistamps4Joy.  If you have never checked out the challenge blog you'll have to stop by - there is always something going on there!  And the shop - OH MY!  There are TONS of digis in just about any theme you could ever dream of...and new ones added every week!  Lastly, the Design Team is quite a group!  I have no idea why they accepted me because my crafting level is no where near theirs!!  They are so talented!!!!

Eureka - Anything Goes

Don't you just love when a challenge is Anything Goes?  Any color - any sketch - any image - the possibilities are endless!  This week the theme at Eureka Stamps is Anything Goes!

Since it's March now and St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, I decided to use "Digi4208 Clovers" and "Digi28804 Wee Bit " for my card.  I also have a clover embossing folder by Darice in my stash so of course I had to get it out and use it.  Add a piece of ribbon and color with various green shades of Spectrum Noir markers - and here's what I came up with:

Come join us at Eureka Stamps - I can't wait to see what you create!!!

Sentimental Sundays - Sketch

I'm so excited to be chosen to be a Guest Designer at Sentimental Sundays for March!!!  Honestly I don't think I even come close to the talent of the Design Team so it's truly an honor.

For this week the theme is a sketch.  This really helps me out  because I always need a starting point it seems.  The sponsor is Rick St.James.  I chose to use Gigi for my image and wanted to keep the color scheme to a minimum....black & white with maybe just a pop of color somewhere....and what pops more than red?  I dug through my stash and found a red doily that I have never used so of course it had to come out of the stash for this challenge.  Here's the sketch:

Of course part of the joy of using a sketch is that you can use it at is, turn it, flip it, or just use it as an inspiration.  This was my final result:

So pop on over and show me some other ideas for the sketch over at Sentimental Sundays.  Don't forget that your card must have a sentiment somewhere.

Kitty Bee Aloha Friday - Monochromatic

I love monochromatic cards!  It sort of takes all the color guesswork out of the project.  Our new Aloha Friday Challenge at Kitty Bee Designs is Monochromatic.  Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine.  I chose an image called "Tilly Dinosaur".  I thought Tilly was so cute!  And I needed to make card for a little boy so what could be better than a dinosaur?  Of course the color scheme had to be greens and so papers from the stash came in very handy.  Add some Washi tape and voila - the card is on it's way to a little boy and hopefully will bring a smile to his face.

Bird Birthday

Nothing like waiting until the last minute huh?  That's what I'm doing here....I had all month to make a card with this months image at From the Heart Stamps and I'm just now posting my creation.

I loved the image this month and it seems like I never have enough Birthday cards so this was just perfect!  When I was trying to figure out what color to make my bird all I kept thinking about was "the bluebird of happiness".  LOL!!  Looking at the blue marker choices I couldn't decide and then seemed to be leaning towards almost a teal color so my bluebird turned teal.  You just never know how things are going to go when you sit down at the craft table.  LOL!!

Crafter's Cafe - Red, Pink, and White

Remember all those Valentine's you were making a couple weeks ago?  I'm sure that you have scraps of red, pink, and white paper along with embellishments laying around that were left over.  Well do I have an opportunity for you!  The new challenge at The Crafter's Cafe is a color challenge and you can use all those items left over!  Yep - Red, Pink, and White is our theme!

Our sponsors for this challenge are Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and Guylous Inimitability Digital Stamps.  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps not only has digi's but also clear stamps too.  One of my absolute favorite lines at Sweet 'n Sassy is Cocoa the mouse!  He's soooooo cute!!!  So I chose "Cocoa's Gift" because I needed to make a Birthday card for a friend.  I used one of my new embossing folders from Spellbinders and then papers I had left over from Valentine's cards.
